It is a known fact that people usually take the path of least resistance. It’s human nature. Find the easy way, the shortest path to the thank you dollar tree. We want our money tree but planting the seeds can be too much work.

We all have images in our heads of what our thank you dollar tree fruits would provide. Dreams of wealth, freedom from the daily work grind, travel to exotic vacation lands and time at home with the family. This is a painting we all want to hang on our wall.

NOW, how do we get this painting, what paths are you willing to take? The world has unlimited streets of unlimited ways you can decide to pursue for your level of lifestyle. The amount of “no’s” in life that you are willing to see past will determine how complete your painting is. If you keep at it with “no” as not an option in your thank you dollar tree planting you will see the results.

We have all read the stories, heard about the amazing lives people who don’t take no for an option. The more you read what does it all boil down to? It’s not your choice of income streams, it’s not your location on this planet, and it’s not what your race, color, or creed is. The real answer to their success was the fact that No was not an option.

Over and over the same questions are asked. How did you do it? Can you show me? Tell me the secret. You come to realize that the paths we choose to get to our thank you dollar tree are all capable of producing. There is not one Holy Grail of business or way of income stream that you must do. The opportunities toward your dream paintings are endless. What was it?

NO WAS NOT AN OPTION! They kept at it! Ask them! You get the same answer that they just didn’t accept it. Whether they were tired, wanted to toss it all away they keep doing it because no was not an option. That is what separates the winners, the ones who get to find the seeds to plant their thank you dollar tree.

I am totally convinced and you can be too. If you never give up, strive to keep at it, never taking a “no” as an option you will succeed in everything in life. Having a complete and fulfilling life has to include all the parts that mean the most to you. What ever that may be you hold the seed.

Keep At It, NO IS NOT AN OPTION.
Good Luck TO YOU. Life is wonderful.

Simple Pleasures: Ingredients to Feed Your Spirit.

Posted by admin - April 4th, 2008

“When we do something we love, again and again, our life comes to hold the fragrance of that thing. ~ Wayne Mullen

Cold air slips through the cracks in my doorway and around my windows. My cats lie curled up in balls; asleep on plump pillows. They hibernate most days now and only awaken from their dreamy slumbers for bites of kibble. They are unaware of our troops in the Middle East or our economy problems here at home.

What sustains you during tough times? Do you have a network of support? What are the things that comfort you when life seems to be filling your plate with more of the things you find unappetizing? Now is the perfect time to focus on simple daily rituals and pleasures as we live through more turbulent days ahead. Let’s call these, recipes for rapture.

Every good recipe must include the right ingredients. Perhaps, it’s buying flowers each week to put in your home or, on your desk at work. Most grocery stores have flowers available and you can include these weekly flowers as part of the menu for “feeding” your spirit. Maybe, it’s taking a break from watching the news or reading the newspaper. Instead, listen to some music that you find particularly soothing. Try keeping a dream journal to capture your dreams or create a personal altar in the corner of a room. You can mix and match ‘ingredients’ according to your particular taste. The key is to create a recipe that is authentically soul-satisfying to you. For me, its cups of tea, a daily walk, and watching birds at my window feeder.

Or, be like cats. Take long naps. Choose the most comfortable and warmest of spots; preferably in sunshine and curled up next to someone. Stretch daily and, when it’s warm enough, go outside for a little fresh air. Watch birds for entertainment. Play everyday. Make sure you have lots of toys available. Get a good cat scratch especially along the back.

To create a ‘purrrrfect’ life fill yours with plenty of simple pleasures and daily rituals that bring you comfort and joy.

Creative Memory Tricks

Posted by admin - April 1st, 2008

What’s the biggest problem with memory tricks? Remembering to use them, of course. There are many memory techniques that work well, but you’ll forget them when you need them most - unless you make using them a habit. So when you take the time to learn a technique, use it until it becomes automatic. Here are some to try.

Using a Story-List

I went to a party as a child. There was a game that involved looking at a table covered in 15 various items. After a few minutes, we were taken to another room, and each child was given paper and a pencil. We had to write down as many items as we could remember. I recalled seven or eight, but one boy won the prize by remembering all 15 items.

Years later I learned why he won. His father taught him a simple trick that none of us other kids knew. The technique is to tie the items together in an imaginative story. For example, what if you want to remember a list of the following things: Soap, milk, honey, fork, and flowers.

Start a vivid story in your imagination, adding each item to it as you go: At the sink, you reach for the SOAP. The soap dish is full of MILK, so you wash your hands in that. Then you comb HONEY into your hair with a FORK, and finally pick up a bouquet of FLOWERS and smile at the mirror. Say each item while mentally reviewing your “movie,” and you’ll remember all five things, even the next day.

Some Other Memory Tricks

Tell yourself to remember. When you learn a person’s name, for example, tell yourself, “remember that”. This signals your unconscious mind to rank this input as more important.

Know WHY you want to remember something, and HOW you’ll remember it. To remember a person, for example, ask why they’ll be important to you in the future, imagine where you’ll see them next, and connect that to anything you notice about them. Seeing the importance of remembering really helps, and additional associations (where you expect to see the person next) set the memory more firmly in your brain.

Do you ever forget where you put your car keys? You’ve probably tried retracing your steps, at least doing it in your imagination. This can work well, but even better is to prevent the forgetting beforehand. When you set the keys on the chair, see yourself walking in and setting the keys on the chair. You won’t forget where they are.

There are many more of these memory tricks. If you want them to be useful, though, don’t just read about them. Make a memory technique or two into a habit, starting today.
