What Is on Most Peoples Christmas Wish List?

Posted by admin - September 30th, 2008

If you are buying several different gifts for Christmas hoping that the person will like them, then this article is for you. It would be a great idea to get them a gift card and let them choose what they really want and then you can spend the rest of the day enjoying each others company.

Christmas gets more extravagant every year. Even though people always claim they’ll do it differently in the future, each Christmas it feels like you spend the holiday just cleaning and cramming stuff away. Sure it was fun to get gifts when we were kids; but now that we’re adults do we need to continue the crazy mall shopping every year?

The problem is that most people don’t know what everyone wants. The theory seems to be that if you just buy a lot of stuff for a person you will please them because you increased the odds. Do an online search to find the perfect gift for your loved one. Check with people who know what they want and need. In the course of the year, make a few subtle inquiries so when the gift occasion arises you won’t be stumped. This will hopefully stop you from buying those useless gadgets and trinkets. When these ideas fail, there is nothing wrong with gift cards. These can be personalized by including a few ornaments or hand-baked cookies or even a personalized card telling them that you wished that they have the last say about their gift. Even if you get to spend all your time surrounded by gifts, the best gift of all is spending time with loved ones.

While gift cards may be considered a bit impersonal, it is better than getting that loved one a gift they do not need or like. Gift cards are a terrific last-minute idea if your inquiries didn’t result in any answers. Most of the time people don’t know what they want, or won’t answer if they do. There are plenty of ways to please this group, too. Here is a great site for some personalised gift ideas for everyone.

VoIP - 3 Ways to Make The Call

Posted by admin - September 27th, 2008

We’re hearing a lot about Voice Over Internet Protocol (VoIP) these days. I for one am a big fan of this technology. Did you know that you could actually use VoIP in 3 different ways? That’s right! There are really 3 different ways that you can ‘make the call’. Ok, you can actually receive the call 3 different ways as well.

First up is probably the most popular. I use this way myself and most of the residential providers out there today use this as well. What is it?

ATA - Analog Telephone Adapter

Your normal phone plugs into an ATA that you received from your VoIP provider. This is the most common way to get hooked into VoIP. This device takes care of all the magic that occurs when you make and receive your calls over your broadband connection. Your analog phone signal must be converted to digital to be routed through your broadband connection and this ATA does the job.

IP Phone - Internet Protocol Phones

As the name would imply, these are ’special’ phones. You wouldn’t know it by looking at them. They look like normal phones. What is different about these phones is the electronics inside them and the fact they don’t take a ‘regular’ phone cable (RJ-11). Instead these phones take an Ethernet cable connection (RJ-45) and also come equipped with the necessary electronics to plug directly into your router.

Computer-to-Computer

This is the oldest and possibly the easiest way to get plugged into VoIP. Here instead of using your normal phone or IP phone to make calls through your broadband connection, you use your computer itself! (You could do this over dial-up, but broadband is certainly better) There are a number of services available that offer no cost or low cost service. You’ll need the software and a microphone to speak into and speakers to hear from and of course your computer and a high-speed internet connection. Some providers offer this service for free when their software is being used on both ends of the call.

Watch out for Wi-Fi (using IP phones) and other advancements in VoIP technology. We truly are on the verge of a major breakthrough in telecommunications. So, what are you waiting for? Make the call!

Why Top Search Engine Placements Never Move?

Posted by admin - September 24th, 2008

#1 question when it comes to web advertising is how do I get top 10 search engine placements for the terms I wish to aquire?

Without getting into how to aquire #1 placements (Since there are virtually 100’s of articles explaining these techniques), let’s instead look into how companies who do end up aquiring them, never seem to loose them…

1st you must understand that search engines all over the world are battleing what seems like a never ending war to be able to provide the ultimate best results for a search.

So since this is true, search engines are consistently upgraded in order to improve their results. With upgrades come new content, with upgrades come loss of placements as well.

We all are consistently updating our sites to better fit search enignes results but at the same time, the top search engines are telling us to simply provide great relative content for your visitors. So why then do we ignore their wishes?

See what I’ve found through many up’s and down’s is that I had the ability to get the top placements all along. It was right under my nose the whole time.

Here it is… are you ready?…

Create your content for what you’re after and foget it! Move on, attack something else.

See, the reason why so many top companies never lose their precious placements is because they create very good content and then leave it up to search engines to find it, re-find and again re-find the same content.

Here’s what happens. The 1st time a search engine finds your content, they archive your information and keep going. Now that they have it archived, they come back time and time again to see if they can still provide viewers with that information.

If by chance you changed it in any way, search engines will ultimately have to re-archive the information again and start all over. This in turn is like “loosing interest” in your information at that time.

So a good rule of thumb is to leave your content the way it is in order to let search engines to have the opportunity to archive, double check and maybe tripple check your content relavance.

I guarantee you if you create it and forget it, create more and forget it and stick to that strategy, your bound to hit your target.

Keep up the good work!

The Best Anti-Aging Skin Care Treatment

Posted by admin - September 23rd, 2008

You do not have to spend a lot of money to find the best anti-aging skin care treatment. There are a number of products that are sold over the counter that work wonders on the skin. Products that contain anti-oxidants and natural botanicals are terrific in making the skin appear smoother and more luminous. Do not make the mistake of thinking that the more expensive a product is the better the product will work. You will end up with a bunch of overpriced products under your bathroom sink. Read product reviews and look for what is selling fast in your local drug store.

About six months ago I started using an ex-foliating scrub two times a week. Doing this has been the best anti-aging skin care treatment. My fine lines have been reduced dramatically and my skin is softer than it has been in years. In part I think this has been so effective because my moisturizer has been able to be readily absorbed because the scrub removes the dead skin cells and the moisturizer is able to get in and do its job. For the few minutes that it takes to do this scrub it is so worth it for the great results.

6 Ways of Forming Chinese Characters

Posted by admin - September 19th, 2008

Did you know there are only 6 ways of forming Chinese characters?

Yes, 6 kinds of Chinese characters make up the 50,000 Chinese characters in existence today.

Amazing isn’t it?

It shows that there is a logical symbol system used to create Chinese characters. That they are not just made up of random lines and strokes.

Once you know these 6 types of Chinese characters, you’ll find that learning Chinese writing isn’t so difficult after all.

Oh, one more thing…

The “radicals”

No, these have nothing to do with extremists or terrorists.:)

They are the “root elements” of Chinese characters. The meaning part of Chinese characters. There are 214 of them and they exist independently or as part of complex characters.

Once you get a general idea of the common radicals, you can guess the meaning of Chinese characters.

Modern Chinese dictionaries are organized by radicals - starting with one-stroke radicals, two, three and so on, and hanyu pinyin, the modern Chinese Romanization system.

By knowing the radicals and the 6 ways of forming Chinese characters, one can pretty much guess the meaning and sound of Chinese characters.

So, what are the 6 ways of forming Chinese characters?

The earliest Chinese characters some 4,000 years ago were shaped like the things they represented. Known as “pictographs”, these were pictures of humans, animals and natural objects, like “sun”, “mother”, “bird”, “food” etc.

There are only 300 plus pictographs but they form the building blocks of modern Chinese writing.

To create more words, symbols were added to pictographs to form “ideographs”. For example, by adding a horizontal stroke, “wood” became “root”, and “mouth” became “sweet”.

Later, two or more pictographs were combined to form “composite ideographs”. These are “meaning plus meaning” words. For example, “man” 人 added to “tree” 木 forms the Chinese character “rest” 休 — a man leaning against a tree. And three characters for “wood” 木 together make a “forest” 森.

This way of forming Chinese characters shows the creativity of the ancient Chinese, but it could not produce a lot of Chinese characters easily.

“Borrowed characters” came into being. This means a Chinese character with the same sound as another was borowed to form new characters with no regard for its meaning.

The result? New characters with the same sound but different meanings were formed. For example, the Chinese character for “north” 北 showed two people “back to back” and originally meant just that. The original character 北 was borrowed to represent a direction, while the sound remained unchanged.

But what happened to the original meanings of these borrowed characters? In order to retain their original meanings, a meaning component was added to the sound component. So using the same example, the character meaning “back to back” was given a “flesh” component 背 so it could keep its original meaning.

As a result, “sound plus meaning” words or phonetic compounds were formed. These are Chinese characters with a sound part and a meaning part. Today, this type of Chinese characters make up 80% of Chinese characters in use.

The last type of Chinese characters is called Transferred characters.

Transferred characters share the same radical and have the same meaning but their pronunciations are different. This is the least important of the 6 ways of forming Chinese characters.

So early Chinese characters were created based on meaning alone and started from pictures.

Eventually, each Chinese character became “a unit of sound and meaning” like what we have today.

But it remains possible to guess the meaning of Chinese characters from the meaning component, the radicals.

SEO Sitemaps Give Websites a Boost

Posted by admin - September 11th, 2008

A lot of web pages will find an SEO sitemap useful in improving their performance. SEO stands for “Search Engine Optimization”, the process that aims to create or revise Internet sites so that it can be better found by search engines. The objective of SEO campaigns is to have websites appear in the top listing or first results page of search engines.

Internet search engines, such as Google and A9, maintain a very large database of Web pages and available files. To do this, they devise a program called a web crawler, or spider. This software automatically and continuously surfs and hunts content in the Web. Pages that the spider finds are retrieved and indexed according to text content, giving more weight to titles and paragraph headers. Spiders never stop navigating the web from page to page, to index the relevant content of the Internet. Besides looking at the text of titles and headers, some programs are able to identify default tags and keep a library of these page keywords or key phrases in the index.

When a user connects to the Internet types a query, which is automatically interpreted as keywords, the search engine scans the saved index and creates a list of web pages that is most appropriate to what the user is searching for.

SEO will use all the combined techniques of keyword analysis, smart code, good content literature, link popularity study and website organization to place the subject web page as high as possible in the list of search results in search engines. Web pages displayed on the top of results pages are assumed to get the most attention, and therefore, opportunity for earnings for web businesses and pages with sponsor links.

Search engines usually return a list of results ranking pages according to the number of Internet sites linked to them. Results can be classified as organic, or sponsored links. Sponsored links are shown prominently because their creators or agents paid the search engine. Sponsored links are the main source of income of search engines. “Organic” search results are the lists of actual results from the engines index and are directly related to the keyword typed in the request. One of the more effective techniques of SEO is the creation of a well-organized site map in a website. Since the site’s main page and other content are directly linked to a site map, spiders can more easily move through the website, identify the key words of the content, and index these for a search engine. This is where the SEO sitemap helps the website creator or administrator.

Site maps are usually pages filled with links. These are shown as tables or lists, although lists are generally more effective. Writing code for SEO sitemaps is very easy and simple to format and maintain. These are ideally basic HTML pages with default tags, logical titles and keywords scattered in the Meta description. Introduction areas can contain more of the keywords. The site should have a main heading for every directory.

A simple list layout helps reduce unnecessary tags that might “hide” your keywords. Some spiders give more weight to the following, than text in the normal body of the webpage: heading text, content within link elements, text nearer the top of the page and the text written for a link. Therefore, writing the keywords and links in these areas could somehow move up the web page’s ranking. This goes for SEO sitemaps as well.

Web sites should be designed consistently, so navigation models should follow the flow of the site map. Therefore, the first section in the site map should be the first link in the navigation bar.

In an SEO Sitemap, and most pages, the headings contain title attributes where more key phrases in the site map can be added. Keywords are generally well chosen and written in the body of a webpage. However, in an SEO site map with little text, key words should be added as much as possible. As much as possible, web links should follow web page titles, and must undergo SEO during coding. Care must be exercised not to cram the page with keywords and links, or the page will be interpreted as blatant spamming and not receive any traffic at all.

There is no way to guarantee that a website will be shown in the topmost ranking of “organic” search results for an extended period of time. However, smart and responsible SEO sitemap techniques can be used to place the website high up in the search position. Regular monitoring and adjustment of the SEO Sitemap and search results would ensure that a website is kept near the top ranking and receiving lots of web user traffic.

Buy a new house with bkr loan, 108984 euro in a week

Posted by admin - September 9th, 2008

Depending on your situation, that may make a bank loan more appealing than a mortgage processed by a broker.

Some will quote you precise, competitive rates 6 percent. See mortgage loan for residential mortgage lending, and commercial mortgage for lending against commercial property. Many of these fees are fixed but some can be negotiated.

Arranging a mortgage is seen as the standard method by which individuals and businesses can purchase residential and commercial real estate without the need to pay the full value immediately. Although most mortgage experts say that rates 4 percent are pretty much the same wherever you go, give or take this tiny 6 percentage. And of course, each loan and each borrower are different. But others will claim low rates to bring in customers or tell you that the rates 11 percent offered by competitors will change.

Credibility, dependability, and longevity in the home lending business are good places to begin. It is a transfer of an interest in land, from the owner to the mortgage lender, on the condition that this interest will be returned to the owner of the real estate when the terms of the mortgage have been satisfied or performed.

So how do you find a lender or broker you can trust’ Start with credibility. It’s not easy to know if the prices quoted by lenders are reliable. Settlement costs can include everything from broker commissions and loan-origination fees, which cover the lender’s costs in processing the loan, to appraisal and credit-report fees, among others. Brokers work with many mortgage bankers and, as a result, can sometimes find slightly more competitive rates 9 percent perhaps lower but dealing directly with a mortgage banker can move a loan along more quickly. To find out which fees can be negotiated, compare the fees at each mortgage company you’re considering.

In other words, the mortgage is a security for the loan that the lender makes to the borrower. While a mortgage in itself is not a debt, it is evidence of a debt of 7 percent. See which lenders are charging fees 3 percent and for how much. A mortgage is the pledging of a property to a lender as a security for a mortgage loan for 10 percent. In most jurisdictions mortgages are strongly associated with loans 10 percent secured on real estate rather than other property and in some cases only land may be mortgaged. Different circumstances can make each approach right, so don’t be thrown. Both banks and brokers have their strengths and weaknesses. Different lenders charge different fees.
