“New Disability” Website Launched at http://www.NewDisability.com

Posted by admin - May 27th, 2008

Med Services Europe announced the launch of “New Disability”
(http://www.NewDisability.com) a website dedicated to products
for the disabled community. According to Dr. Gene Emmer,
President of Med Services Europe, the goal of New Disability is
to be a platform to advance the commercialization of assistive
technology.

“We want ‘New Disability’ to be a meeting place where members of
the disabled community can discuss product needs and
opportunities” Explained Dr. Emmer. “One of the central parts of
the website will be a discussion forum where everyone interested
in the topic of products for the disabled will be invited to
participate. We hope that by offering an open forum where people
can share ideas and suggestions, we can facilitate the progress
of the industry. For example, if someone has a suggestion for an
exciting product for the disabled community, Med Services Europe
can help them to bring it to the market. There will also be the
opportunity for people who have had a problem with a disability
product to leave a comment. The website administration will then
follow up and, where appropriate, will take contact with the
product’s manufacturer.”

Tips to Kick Start your Wedding Planning

Posted by admin - May 27th, 2008

If you have experience with project planning in a professional
sense at your employment then you should treat the planning of
your wedding no different. Wedding Planning is a must for small or big weddings
- perhaps it’s more critical to plan out your wedding for the
large weddings for everything to run smoothly on the day.

A Big or Small Wedding? First of all, you should have a
general number of guests you would like to invite. This will
determine everything else you do in your wedding planning. Do
you want a small cozy wedding or a large wedding gathering? Is
it what you want or what your parents or in-laws want? Is it
within your budget? Once you answer these questions your wedding
planning has now been kick started.

Assign Tasks In a project situation, it is important to
delegate tasks and so in your wedding planning you need to
determine who will be responsible for certain aspects of your
wedding. For example you may want to designate responsibility of
handling of catering for yourself while delegating the
responsibility of the wedding music or entertainment to your
partner.

Wedding Budget A commercial project always has a profit
and loss statement and a budget. A wedding plan profits when you
succeed and you lose when everything falls apart - you don’t
want the latter to happen. One of the more important aspects of
wedding planning is your wedding budget. You should have a
general number in your head of how much you want to spend on
your wedding and from that starting number you can allocate
money to the ’sub-projects’ of your wedding such as the
catering, the reception hall, etc. Watch carefully how you spend
your wedding budget and always keep a look out for ways to save money on
weddings.

Wedding Research Keep note of what works and what doesn’t
when you attend other weddings, talk to the caterers and the
musicians or the DJ if you like their service. Talk to the
wedding couple or other recently wedded couples to ask them what
worked in their wedding and what didn’t and what other advice
they could offer. A part of your research would take you to
wedding expos and shows around the country in your city or local
area. At the wedding show you can take into account the latest
trends and products that are popular in the wedding industry.
You will be able to talk to reception services, caterers and
bakers for your wedding cake. You will able to see their
showcase of wedding dresses and possibly catch a catwalk display
of the dresses. Remember your purpose at these shows - that you
are there as research for your wedding plan and not be tempted
by the other extras that aren’t really a part of what you want
for a wedding. Your purpose is to get an idea of how much
everything you want at your wedding would cost as well as your
options in the variety of wedding areas.

Wedding Ceremony and Reception Location

Finally, a major element to your wedding project plan is to
arrange the ceremony and the locations of the ceremony and
reception. If you are religious it would probably be assumed
that you would be wedded in a church or other religious
building. If aren’t religious and are looking for a civil
celebrant you will also need to plan around that. Planning your
reception location would probably take into consideration the
research you have done previously. Shop around for prices; ask
around for testimonials of good service to find the perfect
location to suit what you want and your budget.

Good luck in your wedding planning!

Discover the Wonderful Hampton Court Palace

Posted by admin - May 27th, 2008

Hampton Court Palace lies to the south west of London, on the banks of the River Thames, encircled by wooded areas & amazing grounds. Hampton Court Palace, Henry 8’s elegant riverside dwelling is set in well over six-hundred acres of park and private gardens. For a superb family day out, why not visit Hampton Court Palace with Enjoy England.

Introducing the feeling of over 450 years of the past, uniformed performers can be seen all over Henry 8’s & King William 3’s lovely personal accommodations. The pictures, noise and whiff of the attractive Tudor kitchens where royal occasions were organised for Henry?s courtyard of over seven-hundred people can also be viewed.

Hampton Court Palace has been divided into 6 unique routes or expeditions. The Maze at Hampton Court Palace which is placed on the Thames to the west of London is almost certainly the most distinguished hedge maze on this globe.

Hampton Court palace has a repulsive history and is allegedly inhabited by quite a few ghosts, including two of Henry’s late wives & a nursemaid to his offspring. Hampton Court Palace stewards & hostesses will be close by to aid visitors to their elected state estate for a wine and canap?s function. Fancy dress callers will declare the evening meal & guests will be called to locate their reserved seats for a breathtaking two course meal with hand-picked fine red & white wines.

Hampton Court Palace has 60 acres of formal private grounds besides the four-hundred acres of royal wood. The palace grounds go back to the sixteenth Century, when the earliest Privy Garden was bedded between fifteen thirty and fifteen-thirty eight for King Henry the eighth.

In Virginia, Can You Get Lifetime Workers’ Compensation for Your Work Place Injury?

Posted by admin - May 25th, 2008

In Virginia, the normal work place injury only allows you 500 weeks of compensation. Of course, in order to be paid this 500 weeks of compensation, you either have to show you are “totally disabled” or that you are “partially disabled” and cannot get a light duty job due to your “partial disability.”

But what happens when you are still “totally disabled” and the 500 weeks expires? Virginia does allow some cases to go for payment of compensation for your lifetime. These fall into two areas. First, if your accident has caused an injury to the brain so severe as to render you unemployable, then you can receive lifetime compensation. Second, if your accident has caused the loss of both eyes, both legs, both arms, both hands, or any combination of two of the above, then you can receive lifetime compensation.

The Virginia Workers’ Compensation has decided the injured worker does not have to show total loss of two members. It suffices to show a permanent ratable loss of use of two members and proof that the injured members cannot be used “gainfully” in employment. Thus, if one can show the work place accident caused a back injury which was so severe that it caused a permanent loss of use both legs, then one has a chance of obtaining lifetime compensation. This is an area that is fruitful for claims and litigation since back injuries are a very common type of injury. A doctor would have to be of the opinion that under the AMA Guide to Permanent Impairments the injured worker has suffered a ratable loss of each leg due to the work place injury. There is no bright line test regarding how high the rating has to be; however, the higher the rating the better chance the injured worker has to obtain lifetime compensation. For example, a back injury that caused more than a 40% loss of the use of both legs could stand a fair chance if there also was a good opinion that the injured worker’s legs due to this loss could not be used in “gainful employment.”

Of course, since the worker is asking for lifetime compensation, the workers’ compensation insurance company will often fight these cases very vigorously. As a result, it often can come down to a battle of experts regarding (1) whether the back injury has caused a loss of use of the worker’s legs; (2) what is the proper permanent ratable loss of the worker’s legs; and (3) whether there is or is not some work the worker could do involving his injured legs (or arms). The Virginia Workers’ Compensation will conduct a hearing and render a decision. If either party is unhappy with the result, then that decision can be appealed from the Hearing Deputy Commissioner to the Three Commissioners who run the Commission. Finally, after the Three Commissioners have made their ruling there is a further appeal to the Virginia Court of Appeals.

In my experience, there is a chance to win this type of case but it does entail having a very severe injury.

Credit Card Bills and Your Finances

Posted by admin - May 25th, 2008

Credit card bills are probably the number one cause of financial problems and bankruptcy in the United States, but it does not have to be that way. It is possible to use credit cards wisely, and to use them as free loans instead of letting them become a source of financial distress.

The best way to do that, of course, is to pay the credit card bill off consistently each and every month. The key to doing that is to never charge a purchase you could not afford to make in cash. Those who consistently follow this strategy find themselves in control of their financial future, while those who do not find themselves at the mercy of the credit card companies and banks.

Of course, if you are like most people, you already have some credit card bills lurking in the mailbox each month, and it can be very difficult indeed to get on top of those bills and help get rid of them. When dealing with high levels of credit card debt, the first step, of course, is to stop spending. As they say, the first thing to do when you find yourself in a hole is to stop digging. This means cutting up the cards, or at least storing them outside your wallet. Stop charging additional purchases to the card, and work instead on paying off the current balance.

Paying the current balance should be the goal of every consumer, and all efforts should be focused on getting that balance down to zero as quickly as possible. The interest rate, of course, is one of the most important considerations, since a high interest rate can quickly bring that balance right back up as it is paid down.

It is often possible to negotiate directly with the credit card company for a lower rate, so do not forget to try this strategy first. If that effort should fail, of course, there are plenty of low interest, and even 0% introductory interest rate offers, out there. Chances are at least one of these has landed in your mailbox, so the next time one shows up be sure to take the bank up on the offer and use the money you save to pay down the balance.

After the credit card balances are down to zero, of course, you will have a greater level of control over your finances, and you will be in a better position going forward. The key, of course is to remain debt free for the long term, and that will take a combination of fiscal discipline and good budgeting.

When Free Isn’t What It’s Cracked Up to Be - What Printers and Advertisers Don’t Want You to Know

Posted by admin - May 24th, 2008

There’s a secret out there that printers and print advertisers don’t want you to know about. They aren’t going to like that I wrote this article and they’ll be even less pleased that alert business people like you are reading it.

Rather than just shaking up the bee’s nest for fun, my purpose in writing this article is to help you, the small business owner trying to get the most out of your investment. I’ve seen a lot of clients find out the hard way that “free isn’t what it was cracked up to be” and I’d love to know that I’ve helped you make the right choice for you and your business. Here’s what I want to share with you:

As an incentive to work with them, printers and advertisers will provide a similar
“free” offer of design assistance when you use their services. While this may
have seemed like the deal of the century when you were in the salesperson’s office,
after you read this article you are going to have a very different take
on things
. In fact, most business people that learn the inside scoop
on this “free” offer never take advantage of it again.

Here’s how the process works.
Printers and advertisers hire 1-5 production artists to prepare client files for
final production, this is called pre-flight. Pre-flight is a lot like
an assembly line
: projects are cranked out one at a time and as efficiently
as possible. In addition to preflight, printers and advertisers took this assembly
line idea and had their artists design projects for clients that wanted design
done for free. This makes pitching their services much easier and attractive to
clients because clients think they are getting something for nothing.

It’s a clever idea. When you purchase business cards or a yellow pages ad, you now get free design with it.

Sounds too good to be true, doesn’t it? It is.

Speed is the key component of a production artist’s job. The more jobs they design
in a day the more money their employer will make. Their salary is a fixed cost.
Here’s something you might not have known, they aren’t really free, the
printer or advertiser has already built the cost of the artist’s time into the
price they charged.

Since it’s a fixed cost, the faster the production artist completes the project
the more money the advertiser or printer will make. So their goal is not
to get the best results for your company, rather to move you through the production
line as fast as possible.

I know, not a very good surprise, was it?

Think about it, the more time the production artist spends on you, the
less money they make their employer
. So the production artist’s goal
is to get you in and out as fast as possible. In fact, they are encouraged to
move your project through the process without investing a lot of time on you.
How do I know all of these insider secrets that advertisers and printers don’t
tell you? I used to be a production artist. I know what they’re doing.

If you are really looking to grow your business and get a positive, solid return on your design investment, skip the “free” design that printers and advertisers throw in and only work with a professional designer. You want to work with an experienced, business savvy designer that will give you and your project the time and attention it deserves.

Will you save some bucks by having the printer’s or advertiser’s production artist throw something together for you? Sure. But you have to ask yourself:

“Should I trust my business image and livelihood to someone that knows nothing
about me, my customers or my business?
“How good can I expect my results to be when the production artist that is working
with me has a different agenda and set of goals than helping my business grow?”

“And is free all that it’s cracked up to be?”

You’re a smart businessperson and fooling you isn’t easy. Now that you know this
insider information, do what’s best for you and your business and hire a business
savvy designer that has the expertise, time and talent to focus on you
and get you the results you deserve for your business investment.

Remember what your parents always taught you, “You get what you pay for“,
and “If something is too good to be true, it probably is“.

Prayer Secret #1 - Your Relationship with God

Posted by admin - May 24th, 2008

This, in my opinion, is the #1 “secret” for getting your prayers answered by God the Father. Here is the Scripture verse that completely captures this principle.

“If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you. By this My Father is glorified, that you bear much fruit; so you will be My disciples.” (John 15:7)

Look very, very carefully at this verse to see what Jesus is trying to tell you. He is giving you two main pieces of revelation in which to grasp if you want to be able to get God to answer more of your specific prayers. Here are the 2 main points.

1. Establish a Personal Relationship with God

The first part of the first sentence - “If you abide in Me” - is telling you that the first thing God wants from you in order to be able to properly approach Him for prayer is a personal relationship with Him!

Jesus is using the word “abide.” What He wants from us is that we abide in Him, that we live in Him. This denotes a personal, in-depth love relationship with Him. The #1 reason God created humans was for intimate fellowship. He has this incredible love for us humans and He wants more than anything else that we approach Him and enter into this one on one personal relationship with Him.

If you really stop and think about this - what is the greatest joy that a person can have on this earth? What is the one thing that most humans long for? What is the one thing that makes you cry when you see this at the movie screens? It is the longing for a personal love relationship with a person of the opposite sex. The longing for a true soul mate. Why? Because that one person, more than any other person, is the one who can really get to know you. It is the one person who can become your best friend. It is the one person who you can tell anything and everything to.

It is the most unique of all human relationships. Some of you have found this “true love” and others have not. The ones who have this one true love in their lives know exactly what I am talking about. Those of you who do not have this true love in your life know the longing for this one special person.

This same longing that we have to meet that one true soul mate is the same longing that God has for us. Except with God, this longing for us is much more intense. The fact that He would send His one and only Son to physically die on a cross in order to get us back to Himself shows more than anything else how much He really does love us.

The best analogy that I can give you on this is the “best friend analogy.” God wants to become your best friend - over your soul mate and over any other best friends you have. He wants to be #1 in your life and will not settle for anything less. The Bible says that God the Father is a “jealous God - a consuming fire.”
Some Christians believe if they go to church once a week, sing a few songs in church and pay their tithe, that they are “in relationship” with God. God wants more than this. He wants you 7 days of the week - not just one time a week in church. He wants to be able to freely commune with you any day and anytime of the week. He wants you to talk with Him just like you would with your best friend. He wants dynamic, free flowing conversation with you on anything you want to discuss with Him, no matter how small or trivial it may seem to you. And He wants you to be open to listening to anything that He may have to say to you.

What happens to a lot of Christians is that they have not established this kind of personal relationship with God and when a crisis or emergency presents itself, it is already too late to try to get God to answer your prayer.

Notice that Jesus starts the first sentence out with the word “IF.” IF you have established a relationship with God, THEN you can approach Him with your prayer requests and THEN He will answer them.

Too many Christians attempt to “use” God. The only time they ever approach God is when they need something. God thus has no natural desire to answer any prayer request you may present before Him because you have not established any type of true personal relationship with Him.

One of the things that I feel like the Holy Spirit has conveyed to me is that if you really want to be able to get God to answer more of your prayers, you have to create a desire in Him to want to answer your prayer. And the #1 way that you create a desire in God for Him to want to answer any prayer request you may have is to establish a good personal one on one love relationship with Him.

The Parent-Child Analogy

The analogy the Holy Spirit gave me to understand all of this was the “Parent-Child Analogy.” Imagine you have 2 small children. The one boy really loves you. He has established a true love relationship with you. He wants to “hang out” with you.

He comes and tells you everything that happened to him today. He tells you all the “little things” that may have gone right or wrong during the day. He values your opinion.

When he gets older and more mature, all of sudden he wants to hear about your problems. He wants to know more about you, your past, why you do what you do, why you think the way that you do, etc. This child is truly abiding in you, truly living in you.
You feel like you and him are “one in spirit.” As a result of this relationship, you can read each other minds and thoughts. As you grow older, the relationship deepens and keeps getting better and better.

Then you have the other child. He could care less about you and your personality. The only time he will ever approach you is when he needs something. He will even go as far as to “act” like he cares about you, but once he gets what he wants from you, he is back to ignoring you until the next time he needs something.
As he grows older, you grow farther and farther apart. When he is finally able to leave home on his own, you never hear from him unless he really needs something from you. He hardly ever calls or comes over.

Now if you are the loving father over these 2 children, which of the two will you have a natural desire to help out when they need your help on something? You have no natural desire to help the one who has been “using” you all these years. However, with the child who has established a true love relationship with you, you will bend over backwards to give that child anything and everything that he needs. Why? Because he loves you for you! He doesn’t love you for what you can do for him. He loves you for the person that you are and for the friend that you have been for him all those years.

In fact, your love for this “loving son” will be so great, that a lot of times you will give him what he needs before he will even ask you for it. Why? You are so “in tune” with him, you will know what he needs sometimes before he even knows that he will need that something. Then you want to give it to him before he even asks you because your love for him is so great. You have a very strong, natural desire to want to make him happy just because of the personal relationship that he has established with you all these years.

It is the exact same way with God the Father! Establish a true, loving personal relationship with God and see if your whole life doesn’t do a complete 180! Nothing will move God the Father to want to work on your behalf as establishing this kind of personal relationship with Him will!

One word of caution. God cannot be tricked or duped. You cannot approach God trying to enter this kind of personal relationship in order to get Him to give you all of your wants and desires. Your motives must be pure! You enter into a relationship with God because you want to get to know Him personally! You don’t enter into this kind of a relationship to see how much He can give you. You have to “want God” for who He is - not for what He can do for you. The Bible tells us to seek the face of God - not His hand.
For those of you who have truly established this kind of personal relationship with God, I’m sure you can testify that this is truly the greatest experience that a human can have this side of heaven. That this one and only true God in the entire universe can actually make contact with you, commune and talk with you and really establish an intimate relationship with you.

For those of you who have not really established this kind of personal relationship with God, the one thing that I and my friends can tell you is that there is nothing to be afraid of. God will handle and relate to you on the level that you are currently operating at. This personal relationship is not built overnight, but over time.

God can satisfy and meet the deeper longings of your soul and spirit that no human can reach! He can truly love you deeper and better than any human can. You can totally trust Him because He is perfect in all of His ways. He will not hurt you or harm you in any way. God has no dark side to Him so He is completely trustworthy. He is totally incapable of hurting you in any way.
A lot of Christians are afraid to go “deeper” with God in this kind of a personal relationship because they have been terribly hurt in other “love” relationships - whether it be with parents or lovers. All humans are imperfect and are thus not capable of “perfect love.” Since God is perfect, He and only He, is capable of giving you this kind of perfect love.

2. The Bible

Note the second part of the first sentence says, “My words abide in you.” I believe Jesus is telling us two things in that sentence.

His “Words” means literally His Words. If you have established a true love relationship with God, He will talk to you just like you will talk to Him. And if He is talking to you, His words will then be abiding in you! This is the direct result of a free flowing dialogue that you have established with God as a result of having established a personal relationship with Him.

The other meaning to the word “Words” I feel He is referring to is Scripture - the Bible. If you really want to enter into a real relationship with God, you have to spend regular quality time studying the Bible. The Bible is the only true source that we have to really learn about God the Father, His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit.

When you enter into a true love relationship with someone, the first natural desire you have is to want to get to know everything about that person. You want to know their likes and dislikes, where they came from, where they have been, etc. And you find that out by asking a lot of questions. With God, the #1 way that you learn about Him is to read the Bible because the Bible tells you everything about Him, His Son and His Spirit.
You have to seek out knowledge about God and the Bible is the main source on our earth that can teach us about God and all of His ways.

BOTTOM LINE

To summarize the above Scripture verse in one bottom line statement:

God is looking to establish a one on one personal love relationship with each one of us. This is done in 2 ways:
A direct, free flowing and spontaneous best friend relationship with God where you commune with Him on a regular and frequent basis in the exact same way you would with a best friend.

Seeking after God by trying to get to know all you can about Him through study and meditation on what is written in the Holy Bible.

I guarantee you that if you are willing to enter into both of these “realms” with God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit, your life will never be the same again. The personal relationship that you can enter into with God is the “door opener” that will change the course of your entire life. The “journey” is there for all will accept and step into it!

Understanding Mesothelioma Treatment

Posted by admin - May 24th, 2008

Mesothelioma treatment relates relieving or curing the deadly disease called mesothelioma. Mesothelioma is serious disease that affects the lining of lungs, abdominal organs or heart. Mesothelioma can be of two types, either benign or malignant. Mesothelioma treatment, for an individual suffering from benign mesothelioma, is surgery. However, in case of malignant mesothelioma scientists could not find any established mesothelioma treatment to cure the patient fully.

Types of Mesothelioma Treatment
Mesothelioma treatment options available today are radiation, chemotherapy, radical surgery and/or combination of all these treatments. During surgery, either a part of tumor or the whole tumor is removed. In some cases, a portion of the normal tissue surrounding the area is also removed along with the tumor.

Mesothelioma treatment, in which the doctors try to cure the patient with drugs, is known as chemotherapy. As the mesothelioma cancer is a rare disease, very little information is available regarding the effects of different drugs on different patients. Adriamycm, (doxorubicin), Cytoxan, (cyclophosphamide), 5-fluorouracil and 5-azacytidine are some of the drugs that have shown good results and a response rate of 0 to 35 % when tried on mesothelioma patients. Some other effective drugs for mesothelioma treatment are cisplatin, high dose methotrexate, interferon, anthracycline analogues and vinblastine. The National Cancer Institute is sponsoring further studies the effectiveness of these and other drugs by funding many clinical centers.

Radiation is another option of mesothelioma treatment that is more helpful in reducing the pain rather than curing the disease itself. Because of the severity of the disease, standard dose of 6,000 rads of radiation has very little effect on mesothelioma patients. In limited cases, some benefit is observed when patient is treated with aggressive high dose radiation. Use of radioactive compounds on diseased tissue has also shown some positive results with the individuals diagnosed early on. Patients of pleural mesothelioma survived for over 24 months when radioactive colloidal gold (Au 198) was placed between the two pleural membranes. Scientists are hopeful that radioactive chromic phosphate, p32 can be used as an effective mesothelioma treatment. This might increase the survival period of patients suffering from peritoneal mesothelioma.

Like the treatment of other cancers, mesothelioma treatment also has its side effects. Nausea and vomiting are some minor problems associated with radiation therapy and chemotherapy that could be controlled with medicines. However, suppression of bone marrow is a serious short-term side effect that may cause WBC, RBC and platelets counts to go down. Such patients may become susceptible to bleeding and infection and may require antibiotic therapy or any other supportive care.

Mesothelioma treatment can be a very expensive and lengthy procedure. However, the patients suffering from mesothelioma cancers can seek compensation for mesothelioma treatments. They can file lawsuits against the individuals or organizations responsible for causing asbestos exposure.

Understanding how to decorate a loft is essential in the interior design world today. What started as a cheap alternative to traditional housing has now become a luxurious lifestyle. The most innovative interior design today is happening in industrial pavilions and empty warehouses. Even the most confident of designers can be somewhat thwarted when it comes to tackling these huge open spaces.
Industrial air is the dominant element in these massive spaces. The original industrial atmosphere of the space is maintained using cold, stark building materials. Floors of polished cement, with their brightness and the lack of boards, help to open up spaces. Keep in mind, the concrete floor can be stained using different shades, this will create defined spaces within the loft. You will probably want to use intense, but limited colors. Lofts can often have a cold hard feeling to them, so it is wise to utilize bright colors such as reds, oranges and yellows in the kitchen and bathroom.
Few and large; this is our advice as far as the furniture goes. Too many small pieces in the area will ruin the appeal of the place. Clutter is the loft’s enemy! A minimalist, clutter free decor is ideal for a loft and gives the impression of a fast paced lifestyle.
