Loft Design

Understanding how to decorate a loft is essential in the interior design world today. What started as a cheap alternative to traditional housing has now become a luxurious lifestyle. The most innovative interior design today is happening in industrial pavilions and empty warehouses. Even the most confident of designers can be somewhat thwarted when it comes to tackling these huge open spaces.
Industrial air is the dominant element in these massive spaces. The original industrial atmosphere of the space is maintained using cold, stark building materials. Floors of polished cement, with their brightness and the lack of boards, help to open up spaces. Keep in mind, the concrete floor can be stained using different shades, this will create defined spaces within the loft. You will probably want to use intense, but limited colors. Lofts can often have a cold hard feeling to them, so it is wise to utilize bright colors such as reds, oranges and yellows in the kitchen and bathroom.
Few and large; this is our advice as far as the furniture goes. Too many small pieces in the area will ruin the appeal of the place. Clutter is the loft’s enemy! A minimalist, clutter free decor is ideal for a loft and gives the impression of a fast paced lifestyle.
